GNX near miss

I heard about a GNX for $25,000.00, but by the time I got the address and got out there the car was sold. I was there within an hour of the time I found out about it and the guy who bought it was loading it up in a truck.

they go fast, at 25K I'm sure it was sold in no time.

I seen them go high 40's.

did you read the statement in the description?

"Only 547 were built and only around 250 remain in the world"

I highly doubt that!

:D :p :D

The 547 built statement is accurate, however, I find it highly unlikely that only 250 remain. That statement would suggest that over 50% of them have been wrecked or destroyed? I'm not buyin' that. With the rareity of the car, it's not like they were bought to be daily drivers and grocery getters.
Just my thoughts...

GNX near miss

I think there is a registry of the GNX that keeps accurate records some where to keep people from building fakes. Any ideas where to get information? I know they have special rear suspension and a hidden serial # on the frame.

Id say that with 547 made about 400 or so are left..

I know a guy who just scored a GNX and I believe that he paid $25 for it.. Wonder if it was the same guy?? Did it come out of Salt lake city and go to the east coast??

wow, wish i could pick up a GNX for 25 bucks! just kiddin...im sure you meant 25k

Yup, one came out of Utah and is now on the east coast. My partner in crime, BFH checked it out and I saw a video of it. It is someone on the board and I am surprised he hasn't mentioned it. Not saying who it is.:D Wish it was me.

BTW, my insurance agent scored a GNX with 7500 miles on it about 3 years ago for 22k.:D Has about 10,000 miles on it now.

10,000 miles on it now

I like to see people enjoy these cars by driving them. I know some enjoy looking at them for enjoyment but......................I have just over 24K on my original owner 16K miler. I keep in touch with the original owner and he is very happy that an enthusiest bought it, like myself. Drew:)

I'm sure he'll chime in when he's good and ready.

He's probably still in shock after getting an awesome deal on a sweet piece of "Buick history".

I had goosebumps watching it being driven off of the transporter. That's all I'm gonna say! :D

I would bet thet there is over 500 left, due to the following:
Their value
People that have them are not going to come out of the closet with them due to the high probability of theft. Even on the few GNX sites, their identity is protected. Most of them don't even feel safe mentioning their state, let alone their city. Really can't blame them.

Good point. There is a guy close to where I live that owns a GNX (I don't know which #) , a TTA and a 63 split window. Now I know he owns these but he doesn't know that I know......if that makes any sense. He saw me and my GN one day and didn't say a word to me. Now I suspect why and I can't blame him. Drew

I don't think so. A good number of the original owners drove these cars every day. I know this to fact in Philly.. AND a board member here was towing for state farm back then and remember seeing at least 2 in the police impound yard that were stolen. He could tell ya stories about how they were stripped while there too.. Not everyone feels the way were all do here on the board about cars.. Some just think of them as transportation .. and treat them as such.. Including GNX owners..

Yup, I DID help, and I can tell ya, if I wasn't an honorable person, I'D have it right now! :)

And I won't divulge who bought it because he asked me not to. But in my opinion, he didn't get hurt!

Check this pic, the whole car looked this good! Just like a mirror...
