Frank is right....alot of these cars were driven, stolen crashed,ect.....about 8 years ago you could buy a GNX with low miles for $24 to $28k...I would guess at around 375 or so left.

Pete

FWIW & IMHO:
Just because a car is driven, that does not mean that it is not still in existance. Stolen: well, those might still be intact, but we'll never see them because they are probably not in the U.S. And crashed: well, I am sure that some of those crashed were restored. Oh, you wouldn't want one of those. Well, me neither, but it could be a good possibility that a "Salvage Title" GNX that has been restored could still be worth owning. I also have known of a few people that have considered the GNX as an everyday vehicle, but I know of a lot more that kept the mileage and use as low as possible because they thought that they were/are something special and would ond day be worth something.
I would still believe that there are about 500 left out there intact.
Definitely not all museum quality vehicles, but still owned, running, and intact.

I made a personal note to myself that in about 10 years when I am good and on my own financially I am going to pursue a low mileage GNX if it's the last thing I do...I always wanted one...I will have it as my show car and another GN for street/strip:D

i've seen maybe 15 different GNXs in my lifetime...one of which had 20K something miles and was torn up badly:eek:
so thats an 15:1 ratio = about 513 good ones to 34 trashed ones
:D

Just missed GNX

The one I just missed buying for $25k had 90k miles, but was very well maintened. I couldn't find anything wrong with the inside or outside.

Well, I am thinking a little different. If you saw 15 and one of them was beat, that would be a ratio of 14 to 1, and that would change the totals to 36.46 bad & 510.53 ok, so that would be 510 ok & 37 ng. Interesting figures, none the less, and I appreciate the info. When I said left, I meant running, in operative order, but not necessarily the original owner, not necessarily never stolen, but intact. Some of the ones that have been stolen you know they have to be overseas. Not all of them that were stolen were cut up for parts. If you go to www.gnx.com, you will notice that a lot of questions go unanswered. Good indication that the owners do not like to talk a lot or come out of ther closet/woodwork, and i really don't blame them. These cars probably have a very high stolen ratio, whether recovered or not

15:1...didnt count the one that was smashed to hell...it had the motor pulled and put in the trunk, for what reason i have no idea

Most of you may have seen this current one...
eBay GNX
I must be the 'suspicious type'...checked out the high bidder's stats. Hmmm...he is currently high bidder on about 18 different items...INCLUDING this GSX and three other GN's. Since the 'X' doesn't have a reserve, I'm sure the seller is glad to see someone 'running it up'.

"running it up"

far more common on e-bay than one thinks. Sellers do it all the time. Drew

Yep...you're right and most are pretty obvious. However, I haven't noticed that many folks 'buying' 4 cars simultaneously (along with a dozen key chains, die cast models, etc.) :D :D

running the bid up

yes you are right, many times the bid gets run up by friends of the owner. The only problem comes in if your friend ends up being the high bidder ebay will still charge the owner for the sale.

That's Chris' old X. He got it w/like 9k on it and sold it w/13 on it. gs462 had that car sideways in Ohio, I missed my chance to drive it. Nice car.

AND a board member here was towing for state farm back then and remember seeing at least 2 in the police impound yard that were stolen.

Yes, a friend of mine is a Phiily cop and mentioned they had a GNX at one time in the impound.

We have a GNX here in town that was used as a race car....took the GNX rear suspension off, installed a homemade water cooled IC, and generally beat the crap out of it.....I imagine there are quite a few like that.......:(
