this may sound rediculous, but i have a bottom end knock in my 87 national, and want to rebuild the engine. MYSELF. Would anybody like to give a few pointers? i've never done one before. If somebody would even walk me through it, that would be great.
I'd have it done, but don't have the money, and also i don't know any t/r specialists in my area.:(

Exactly what area are you in? Canada is a big country.

If you've never rebuilt any engine before, personally I wouldn't recommend learning on a TR engine.

You can assemble the top end yourself, but the bottom end is critical, and has tolerances to thousandths of an inch. Leave it to a competant and respected machine shop/engine builder.

I know it costs more, but its truely a case of "pay now or pay later"

Good luck
Chris

PS- where in Canada?

I'm about 5 minutes from montreal. there are plenty of engine shops, but i'm not sure i should trust just anybody with a turbo engine.
