So the other day a follow member and I were talking about which is better... Good product/build or Good customer communication. I told him most people would be more understanding if the vendor gave good customer communication. The vendor should inform the customer what's going on with whatever they are building or selling for them versus building something without talking to the customer or sending them a product without communicating.

What is more important to you????????

I'd go with a good product that way i wouldn't have to really worry about the communication, lol. The worst is having a crappy product and crappy customer service.

Perception is reality on this kind of thing and every customer is different. The vendor usually has a way of doing business and the many customers have expectations. If the customer wants a call/email, they better be prepared to pay extra for it. Time is money and spending a half a day returning calls/emails may or may not translate into profit. I'll take a known good product that gets to me over lipservice pretty much everyday. But if there are problems everyone expects some kind of resolution.

What if you get good customer communication and a crappy build or product? Good customer communication is great but I think I'd take the good build/product. Had a vendor with good customer communication skills,
made me feel like family, but when I stepped on the gas with his new build - it blew up! I guess that was a good thing - that's how I ended up with RPE. I needed a new motor. Yeah, I'd rather have a good builder than a good talker!

Here is my point of view from a vendor/supplier stand point . Turbo Regals are our main focus on a retail level however we do supply corvette/Porsche/mustang companies with parts on a wholesale level.

In the Turbo Buick world our main focus is stock cars or nearly stock. It can be difficult to advise customers as to what they should or should not do as not every thing works with every combination.

Adding to the mix and this happens in most of the other markets as well is you can have 2 or 3 reproduction variations of the same part. Normally a company will only offer one variation. Quality can vary between each of the reproductions.

Logic would dictate each vendor wants to keep their customer happy/satisfied.

I can't speak for other companies but I would venture a guess that every company or almost every company has that 1-2 customers that can drive them crazy. Its part of life in the retail "game"....
