The 4.1 wasn't available in the Regal unitl '82 and the 350 V8 was aleady gone. There was a 4.3 (265?) V8 in '81, but I know nothing about this motor (Chevy I assume). The real Pace Cars did use the 4.1 NA.

All the '81 Pace Car replicas were 3.8 NA's. Since it needs restoring and has the worng motor, this would be a great candidate for a 455 or SFI/IC/Turbo V6. :)

The 4.3 liter V8 was a chevy motor. It was offered in the Chevy Monza and Olds Starfire with, get this, a WHOPPING 145 HP!!!

It had a 3.1 inch stroke cast iron crank and a tiny 3.5 inch bore (i think, don't quote me). It was weaker than a 305.

Just throwing out useless H-body info...

Ben

The 265 was a Pontiac motor (3.75 inch bore vs 4.00 inch bore on the 301). Also a 4.3 litre.
This engine put out a mere 119bhp @4000 rpm

This was offered with a 2 bbl and 301 was offered with a 4 bbl in 1981.

The Chevy engine you speak of is a 267 (4.4 litre).

Olds had a 260 (4.3 litres) in the late 70's Cutlasses
