Hey everyone. Before I start buying parts to soup up the GN, I wanna get the turbo first, so I can build the engine around that. I was wondering what a good turbo was to go with. I was looking for something to get down in the mid 10's with. but not something so big its hard to drive on the street with. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

all you want is mid 10's and a daily driver?

those two goals are not compatible........a mid 10 turbo is a 70 something along with a supporting cast that isn't real street friendly

mid 11's would be a worthy goal if you are spending a lot of time on the street....

if you "really" want to build a mid 10 sec car, the turbo is not the place to start....start with a very stout block, transmission, rear end and chassis

the turbo is really the easiest (and cheapest) part

Perfectly said.....

You can build a mid 10 sec driver, BUT you better have a clue what your doing..... They're not for everyone. The turbo is the last part you need.

My turbo is supposed to be mid to high 10s. It's a pt67. I just got the motor broke in good and about made it to the track last night but my o2 sensor went out so I stayed home. I really like the feel of this set up on the street. It feels very strong and quick to respond. I did start with a strong rebuild. The rebuild took so long I kept upgrading the turbo. There were some deals I couldn't refuse. I had a ta-49 that I resold for a te-60 and then found a deal on the 67. Good luck and keep your credit at the bank good.

Sorry to hear about the car troubles Mike. Hope you have better luck next time. What is the difference between a PT series turbo vs a TE or a TA. Im still kinda new at this as you can probably tell. Thanks.

I have a PT54 that works great on the street. I have run the best of 11.51 with it. This is with stock heads (unported) and cam. I think this turbo should do easy 10's with a good cam and heads.

I assure you, 10's are never "easy" no matter what turbo you have.

I wonder what the odds would be on that. Two people named caleb, both owning gn's...
