The car has been running great life was real good.

last night on my way to a hang out (Dogwood Ave) the car just pops and dies, with NO warning signs or hiccups.
So i tried to restart it, it turned over fine but nothing else.
Checked fuel pressure and it still had some at the BS fuel rail gauge.
then i notice that with the key on the ON position the Scanmaster was completely blank .
So i unplug the USB and Input wires from the PowerLogger and still nothing.
next i checked the inline fuse that i put on the ECM orange power wire at the battery and it was blown.
i put a new fuse in and the car started right up.
OK
time to put everything back together.
wile the is running i plug in the Input wire back onto the PL and the car instantly shuts off again.
i checked the ECM fuse at the battery and it was blown again.
Unplugged the input PL wire put in another fuse and drove it home.

Just when i was about to start moving forward with other upgrades and changes i have to stop and start chasing bugs again.

Is your Scan master still grounded. Check the wires Try unpluging the PL and running the SM the old fashion way.

stefan its not his SM , it read dashes because the ecm was not powered due to a blown fuse so no data stream

dave check the pl board has enough clearance at the case , check your wire from fuse to the ecm connector , if all looks good pop in another ecm
btw... what size fuse were you blowing and what wire to the ecm are you feeding?

the fused ecm ignition supply to the pin A6(and pin C2) also feeds
--the cci ignition at terminal P (maybe messed up by two step)
-the mass air sensor
-the esc module at pin A

Been calling and PM'ing you all week long Mr. MIA.
Call me Dude.

I am using a 2 (two) amp fuse at the ECM battery connection Orange wire.
Since i wanted to smash the car with a sledge hammer i didn't even check it, just got it home and parked the POS.
Any ways my guess is that its probably a loose wire at the PL input thing. maybe a strand of wire came loose and made contact some place else????
Anyways since thats is a place i get a reaction i am going to pull the ECM check the PL clearance and connections. then i am going to check the PL input thing.
anyways ill post my findings.
thanks for your help guys.

Side notes
Me-Babe come with me to Dogwood?
babe - ok but not in your car.
Me - the reason i am going is to take my car other wise i wouldn't go.
Babe- i hate that stupid car, its loud, every body looks at you and it doesn't have AC and its a POS.
Me - lets just go.
Babe- ok #$@$^%&$&*$%&*%&$@# your car.
Car brakes down.
Babe - Turns and looks at me and starts LOL her as off i mean hysterically LOL and giving that i told you i hate this POS car.
Me - took it like a man got us home switched cars went back to the car show, got us some DND and went back home.
and BTW yes she was complaining that it was too cold in her car-- i had the AC on max.

2 amp??
depending on what you ran the fuse to at ecm , stock ecm feed fuse should be 10amp
and they didnt run a fuse on the ecm orange wire they used a fusible link

Man, that just sucks. Nuthing is worse then when your Ol'lady hates your car....... Tonight my friend, I drink one for you.

I think they hate it because it gets more attention..... :-)

I know when I start working on my car more..... I get more lip from the wife..... I have perfected selective hearing.... :-)

As you know this a put together pos
Anyway I had no idea that a fusible link was used in the OE application.
I just went with a fuse just in case I messed something up.
BTW I've had that 2 amp fuse in that same exact spot for over 10 years (6 on this car) and never had a problem.
After this I am actually happy to have it in place for this short out of no where. Something else could have gotten fried

She only hates it if she has to be in it.

Thanks make it a double

sorry to here about the car, Also did you get the fuel pump?

Nope I am still procrastinating
Considering going way overboard on the fuel system since I might add 2 more cylinders and a much bigger turbo over the winter OR just a second turbo to this combo. Anyway another topic for another day.
For now I hate this car and its bugs.

All women hate our cars. Its because we spend more money and time on the car than we do them.:)

Most of the time when the car blows up we either know why, or can figure it out using logical reasoning....... the wife...... eh...... not so much.....

had some time this morning before work and guess what i found? NOTHING.
pulled the ECM apart unplugged and replugged the PL
I put a rubber spacer on the PL so that it wouldn't move up or down.
I put black tape on the edge of the ECM's case to make sure it wouldn't make contact with the board.
I checked the connections at the PL input and nothing was crossed
I this connected the Scanmaster from the PL and reconnected the PL's input back on to it and turned on the car and everything was good.
i then reconnected the scanmaster back on the PL and turn'ed on the car and all looks good.
BUT
after turning on and off the car a few times the scanmaster started reading NOTHING again. i touched the PL input cable plug and the scanmaster started working again.
Turned the car ON and OFF a few times and its still working????
Scanmaster on its way out??

Take a CLOSE look at the analog block connector on the PL board. See if it is loose or maybe has a cold/cracked solder joint.

Here we go again
on my way to Captree/OBI this morning and the car shuts off a again, as my previous update i had everything plugged back in.
1-I unplugged the PL input cable.
2-Put in a new ECM fuse (at previously mentioned location-Orange wire)
3-The car starts right away , i made a U-Turn and came back home.

Today i am going to
A- Buy a BUNCH of spare fuses (5Amp is the lowest advance has)
B- Remove ALL of the individual inputs that i have on the PL.
C- Drive the car and see if it still shuts off, IF not i am going to put back ONE input at a time and hope fully find the one that is causing this issue.

Up date coming late tonight.
Any other ideas, please post them as i'll check in VIA Cell phone.
Thanks for your help.

Just a guess, but does your input cable make a sharp bend/turn/kink anywhere? maybe it could be a broken or frayed piece inside the cable.

Have you tried removing the PL, and driving for a few days?? Could be something funky on the edge connection.

Not yet, because with the input cable disconnected the car Does Not turn off.
Going now for a 16 mile drive in heavy traffic on a real shitty road with only the SM disconnected.
