the thing shifts great but i have no engine braking and when up to speed i have to quickly jab the gas to the floor and back to get it to shift into od.

the tranny is basically a bq unit since all my bq stuff is in it now

i have a vibration sound coming from the pump area that i hear on each shift but thank god i have NO flair

what i did to the pump was i opened it up and put in the double slider spings and i put my whole assembly out of my other tranny in as far as boost vales and spring

when i put the front seal in it it looked as if the bushng was hanging out of the housing barely but it looked ok.

another thing is the governer only has one spring is that normal??
i thought they should have 2 but i pulled the gov. cover on my brf and it only has one also.

like i said when i take off with it in od it shifts right on the money but not to od and no engine breaking at all.

can i get some hints on were to start ...im thinking of switching pumps in it and see if the noise goes away.

thanks guys...RED

The governor is okay....

You should only have one spring on the smaller weight...

Engine braking:
Have you tried shifting from D to 3 to 2 as a test for engine braking?

Lockup Problems:
Possibly the OD pressure switch may be getting weak necessitating a higher pressure (brief punch on the throttle) to activate lockup.

When you did the pump work, did you remove you converter clutch valve? Did you drill your seal oil returns? Maybe a stray piece of aluminum is causing the conveter valve to stick....

well i think the bushing in the pump came loose myself i guess i'll go pull it apart and try it by my self i guess i'll open a tranny shop by time im done with this pos.

the pump is knocking now which leads me more toward the pump bushing and it acts like it dont have any pressure at idle or low rpms but if i am in the throttle accelerating i can feel the tv cable put pressure on my throttle were it dont have much resistance at idle.

i pulled the tv to full pressure while idling and dont hear any change in the motor at all which is telling me there isnt any pressure change

when i drive it up at highway speed were the motor has some rpms the tranny acts perfect it has engine breaking lockup od and i can even down shift it and have engine breaking but if i do it at lower engine speeds it acts dumb.

thanks bry593 for your thoughts :)

and thanks to the rest that READ IT

i guess you'll want to know what caused all that **** to do that??

i can say if you run a stock pan you dont need to worry about it.

curius yet?

and no its not the pans fault just that it cant happen with a stock one..

and the pump vibration noise was the pressure reg. valve i ground it down and its quiet now but that wasent the problem at all just the noise.

you'll guess first

hint it was noticable when i dropped the pan..:D

ok you asked

the transfer tube came out of the vavle body cause the lil cip thats suppose to hold it up was bent down and i didnt pay it no mind when i put it toghether.

why i say not a worry with stock pan is because how long the tubes go in the tb i think it would hit the bottom of the pan before it came out.

i put it in and the tranny works great now

make any centz ?

whats the transfer tube for anyway?

Transfer tube..

supplys oil from manual valve to boost valve for increased pressure for more holding power. Used in Manual low and sec only, is where this tube comes into play.

but even tho not used if its not there it should create a leak from the boost valve correct
seeing as how the manual valve isnt there to stop backfeed?

hey im learning ..;) .. at least trying :)

Hey Red????

Are those s-10 extreme wheels in your pic 16" wheels?
Why did you take them off?
What size and backspace are they?
I am interested.... very........ very very.....:)

they are 16 by 8 and i think they are centered 4 inch bs

the rears fit perfect on my car but the fronts rub a hair in a good dip were the wheelwell bolts to the fender just inside the top of the wheel well

i found a pic on the web of a gn with them wheels on it
check it out

I have been looking for 3 years ..

For a set of 16's I like. I have the tires but never have found any wheels I like. I think I just have. All bolt right on? Exactly what years and "packages" am I looking for and do they come in colors or just grey or black? Man I like them. The pic of your car looked better tho. They looked a little different. Wonder what the dealer wants new? Probobly very scarey huh? Let me know.... Thanks
