After spending Friday eve into Saturday am Hanging with my TR bothers, got some useable advice and tore into the car when I finally got up in the afternoon...

Dumped that goofy filter cover and had enough room to mount the HID ballasts and hide the rest.. only thing visible is the two fuses for the power.

Drove it to work tonight... looks like I may have to adjust the aim down a bit... these things are great... but now the high beams look dim. Jackson... you got the single filament set available?... (OCD is kicking in again... )

Also... figured out why it went to spark knock that day ... boost reference line blew off the turbo... (Duh!)...

This weeks job: Replace the vacuum hoses... gotta find the purty blue ones I wanted... or maybe red...

Blown off vacuum line eh?.... Makes sense. Either that or it could have been a defective wastegate solenoid. Glad you found the problem... :)

"TR bothers" ?.... Only when we're looking for more parts! :D

Haha... thanks for that tip about the Applied Tech filter cover... that made life easy as pie... now I gotta clean the filter... and whats with the Plumbing clamps they used on the inlet tube?...

I also noted some shaft play on the turbo... (excuse to spend MORE money)

One day you guys might actually get me to participate...

Dunno.... I guess there's no pressure in front of the filter so, even a large garbage bag twist tie thingy would work....

Participate in poker, or...?

Actually, they uses 3" PVC clamps with the serrated aluminum over the rubber... gotta look for something a little less "ghetto" than that...

I'll replace all the "triple clamped" turbo hoses with the blue Silicone ones in tha bag I got with the car... anywhere I can get the "T" style clamps locally, or do I have to mail order them buggers?

Kilgo's and Hydra-Air carries the SS T-bolt clamps. Is Kilgo's still open, or did they already close?... Doesn't matter. They were perpetually out of stock of them anyway.... After a while, I just gave up...

Since I DON'T have OCD. You'll notice on the other GN, that there is a mix of radiator hose clamps and SS T-bolt clamps.

On the other hand, I do have A.D.D......:p

Kilgos' is closing... they are having these 30% off sales... (saw it on the news last night) not gonna fight the crowds... I'll go see Keenan@ Hydra Air about the clamps.. maybe he'll have the MAF and inlet tube hose in blue as well.

You realize the T's will all be indexed the same way on my car right?... and dont ask me about the Zip-Ties... I couldnt find mine... (I think wife took them to mess w/my head)

Oh yeah... found the intercooler missing the bolt that holds it to the bracket on the drivers side... happy happy... looks like the parts car is coming in handy...

Stupid question on the HIDs...

Did any of you re-aim your headlights?... I can see the darn relective signs on the freeway at night...

Rob,

Don't worry about the street signs lighing up durring the light it's color temp of the hid's is why the reflective on the street signs is showing up.

I just find a nice flat dark street or park to adjust the beams.

If you are driving and in front of a small compact car and if your beams is lighting up their car's interior than you have a problem.

Also Rob is the only turbo buick in hawaii that was crazy enough to do both HIGH and LOW beams! :D

It's the OCD kicking in... damned orange high beams... !

They should be in tomorrow. (now that I know how I want to mount the ballasts... )
