I just got my tranny rebuilt. I've got a 88 SS Monte Carlo. I've got a 86 CZF 200r4. I've got the kinks worked out except some of the shift points. The WOT shift points are great. Chirps the tires 1-2-3.(Superior Shift Kit) The regular driving shift points are shifting to soon. I thought of the TCC switch. But i've been reading thru the post and unplugged like a few post said. I drove it around the block and it still shifted early. I like the WOT shift points but would like to get the regular driving shift points a little farther apart. I know the CZF has 2 Govener springs. Would taking one of them out change the shift points? Or should i just buy Bruce's govener. And i have a 87 GN 8.5 posi rear with 3:42 gears. So i know my speedo is off. Could that be affecting it? What speedo gear should i change to? Both gears or just one? Thanks

do you know where there would be any pics of what the govener with springs looks like? I just want to make sure i don't mess anything up.

Thanx, and yep I'm a member there also. Only get the GN gov if you are sure you have the correct CZF VB.

Are you sure the GN (BRF) governor would work with a CZF valve body? I have a similar issue with our Monte SS with it upshifting early at part throttle driving. I thought Bruce said that the GN governor would only work with a BRF or BQ valve body. I think he stated that it wont upshift. Bruce, are you reading this? I have the original CZF trans in the Monte and have several GN governors here. Could I install a GN governor and solve the early up shift issue or should I remove the spring from the heavy weight per this thread http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=16201&highlight=governor

The CZ calibration is extremely close to the BQ/BR calibration. You can use the BR governor with a CZ valve body. It's only when you attempt to run a BR governor with something other than these aforementioned units (ie. AA, OG, OZ, etc.) will you wind up with no full throttle upshifts. (At least none below your rev limiter. :p)

Yes I am reading and giggling. They are very compatable. CZ CQ BQ BRF TTA OZ KZ are all well within reason. They will work together. And nicely I might add. Now , finding one.....hrmmm thats the trick... :D

I've got a 87 GN BRF code 200r4 in my garage. It has the correct vavle body(stamped BRF). And it's got the pink stripe on it. It has a Trans-go shift kit in it. I bought it here on this message board. I've thought about selling it. I'd take $375.00 plus shipping if one of you guys want it. The guy i bought it from said it had a 2-3 flair.
