I'm trying to increase the WOT shift point on my normal style governor. I know 1 gram = 200rpm increase on the light weight and that I should remove the spring from the heavy weight. The heavy weight has a softer spring than the light weight so would I want to swap the spring on the light wieght with the softer spring (and leave no spring on the heavy, obviously)? Would that aide in increasing the WOT shift point or not?
 
I tried something similar & the 1-2 part throttle shift points were real high.
Also it didn't have much affect on the 2-3.
 
So probably best to just leave the stiffer spring on the light weight and just cut off a few grams.

Can anyone explain how the governor works?
