Grill install

Whats up family! I went to install the grill on my project GN and i notice the clips and screws attached to the top of the grill. I looked at the spot on the header panel where the 3 screws attach and see nocthes. Is it broken, if so how do i attach the grill to the header panel

I'm pretty sure the factory uses C-clip style nuts up there, in which case the slots wouldn't matter.

I used short nuts N bolts with 2 fender washers to secure mine in the slots.
