Has anybody heard or tried putting a suprcharged Regal GS motor in a GN. Just something i thought would be kinda different. I would still rather have a turbo motor but still am curious.
The blower inlet won't clear the firewall and all the oil pans are designed for different suspension geometrys so they would have to be heavily modified to clear. I think it would be a better idea to use the motor as a base for a turbo system the Series II and III motors are far stronger and better flowing than there classic 3.8L counterparts in addition to being lighter weight.
I think it would make a better swap canidate for some vehicles though.
Think it would be great. You would have to use a narrow bell housing (some call it the 60 degree Chevy bellhousing pattern) 7004R from a Camaro and a Holden supercharger that has the air inlet from the side. Otherwise routing the air through the fire wall would be a little goofy.
I'm sure the oil pan and inlet tube could be modified to conform to the Regal cratle. I've always wondered about the motor mounts?
Nope, they use a specific 4L60E that shares the FWD bellhousing pattern. The guts are as tough as the LS1 cars, which can go eitherway and of course there is the aftermarket.
