Is there any difference in this and a PT-61?

would a 3000 stall work with the GT series?

pt61 is 6152e , 3200-3400 would be better,
a 6131e would be a better match for a 3000
but a 3000 can work for pt61
fred

same turbo I run on my car...

I run a 3200 n-l art carr converter and this thing spools instantly on the street...

it will work with a 3000 but won't be as snappy...by far the most powerful street/strip turbo out there for the money... :D

Don,

What is the power output difference between the two turbine wheels?

Not very much...the 6131 is a limited build turbo and might make 25 horse less than the T-350 wheel (6152). I always like to see the 6152 because it will flow better on the exhaust side versus a big comp wheel/small exhaust wheel combo like the 6131

Thanks for the quick response.
There is a little stock converter issue.

I have a related question......

What is the difference between the GT6152E and the TE61 w/garrett .63 exhaust housing

I know the wheels are slightly different... but real world.... spoolup vs top end hp potential..... and when do either become better suited than the other.... i.e. @ what boost does turbo x become better than turbo y ..... but turbo x or y is much better overall if boost is kept below ??

Clear as mud?

some of you guys get too caught up in specs sometimes

the TE-61 is NOT the same as the PT61...two totally different compressor wheels...the new 61 is a Garrett GT comp wheel used on the GT35R ball bearing turbo...according to the compressor map on that turbo and from my personal experience, that turbo is most efficient (almost 80%) at 20-22 lbs of boost....it's still nearly 76-78% efficient at around 25 lbs...then it starts to fall off...but it's nearly 70% at 30 lbs...plenty of sport compact guys out there run this compressor up to 35 lbs all day long and they are making nearly 600 hp to the tires...so it's a really good compressor wheel...the TE61 wheel doesn't even come close...

That makes sense. There are a few EVOs running around making over 600 whp with the GT35Rs. I have a brand new PT6152 sitting in my engine bay that I can't wait to push 20 psi out of.
