Ok folks. I want to hear your opinions on what my Buick will turn in the 1/4 mile tomorrow. Let's hear your best guess. I should think of a prize for the winner ;)

Tell me what ET and MPH I'll run tomorrow. Here is the combo and history of the car:

87 GN. Stock shortblock, stock heads (with springs and porting), stock cam, stock rockers, stock throttle body and intake. Stock up-pipe, stock headers. PTE-51 turbo, custom-fabbed front mount intercooler, TH 3" downpipe, 60# injectors, TT 6.0 chip, Vigilante 3200 stall. Stock 3.42 gears.

At 25# boost, 110 octane, MaxEffort race chip (24.7 degrees of timing), with slicks and skinnies on the front, open exhaust, in cool weather, the car has run 11.30's - 11.40's at 116-118MPH in the past.

Tomorrow, I'll be running only 17-18# boost, street TT chip (20/18 degrees), drag radials, normal front tires, through the flowmaster exhaust, in HOT weather. Gonna be upper 80's outside!

So, what do ya think?

12.7s 104 .. why waste your time running 17/18#s of boost

All of you were pretty darn close. Some great guesses. Here are the results...

The track didn't start letting people run until 11am, and my first pass was at 11:15am. By then it was 90 degrees with a heat index of 100. I had 3/4 tank of 93 octane and tools in the trunk. I dialed the car at 18# of boost, and put 19 psi in the drag radials. 5psi launch:

60ft: 1.715
330 ft: 4.975
1/8 ET: 7.819
1/4 mile: 12.46 @ 104.9 MPH

The next run was at 12:38pm. By now the temp outside was getting hotter. Heat index of 102. I raised the boost one psi to 19#. 7psi launch:

60ft: 1.723
330 ft: 4.971
1/8 ET: 7.796
1/4 mile: 12.38 @ 106.1 MPH

The next pass was in the heat of the day at 1:09 PM. Almost 95 degrees outside. Heat index of over 102. I raised the boost one psi to 20#. 6psi launch:

60ft: 1.654
330 ft: 4.835
1/8 ET: 7.610
1/4 mile: 12.11 @ 108.17 MPH

All runs were through the exhaust and had absolutely zero knock. With no alky! I'm very happy with the results! If the weather wasn't so blistering hot, it might of clicked off a high 11 second pass!

Here is the data captured. 02's look perfect. No knock. Shifts were at 5200. I had the WB A/F ratio set to 11.1 in 1st/2nd gear, and 10.8 in 3rd/4th. I'd love to see what a 206/206 roller cam would do for this combo.

nice run for this heat. What track?
Can't wait for the cooler, dryer weather.

It was at Bradenton, Florida. Once the weather cools down I'll go back and see if I can crank out a high 11. I love this car!

Yeah it can be brutal here for hurting the times in the summer. My Z06 loves FL winters compared to FL summers, it feels like a whole different car. My GN ran 13.0 @ 104 on pump gas no alky at BMP- nice times you have!
