While driving on the interstate back from Fla this morning a lilttle after midnight I see sparks fly in the oncoming lane and a car tumbling through the air then across the median towards me. I stand in the brakes and pull in the emergency lane.

I watched what was left of a 4 door s10 blazer continue flipping and land right side up in the median. Engine and trans slung out of it, battery and intake hose fly across teh interstate 30 yards in front of me/debris everywhere. Roof was folded over...freaking tore up!

I Bail out the car (just myself and 1 other guy saw it), call 911, run over the vehicle and see a guy in the vehicle but its too dark to make out anything.

Run to get a flashlight out of my car and then back.

Guy was wearing his seat belt and both airbags had depolyed.

He was laying over the center console still buckled in, nonresponsive, breathing with severe head lacerations......guys scalp was hanging in several spots as well as some cuts here and there.

I stayed there by the car making sure he continued showing signs of respiration with the 911 operator wasnt.

Emergency personnel showed they cut him out of the car, landed a med chopper on the interstate and carried him away.

He was still out cold, but breathing when they flew him away.

Have no clue if he made it, he had some serious dome trauma, brain swelling will be a issue for sure.

Have to say was a lil frustrated at the slow lax pace the fire dept and med guys were moving at as I watched from 40 or so yards away.

Alot of the fire guys were very grossly overweight and were simply walking back and forth to set up the jaws of life, etc like it was nothing...no urgency displayed whatsoever:confused:.

The other guy that I mentioned that saw the acccident was driving in the same lane as the blazer.

The blazer came over in his lane and then overcorrected spun around, the rear of the rear of the blazer hit the rear of his car and the Blazers rims dug in the road and the airborne spinning frenzy started. What shocked me was how fast the spinning rotation was.

Blazer guy was either texting or dozed off, etc im sure.

I'm 6'6" 255lbs I would have been dead in there most likely. Luckily this guy was smaller... if he makes it that is.

Once it was said and done with I was walking back to my vehicle, looked down and see the blazers factory intake hose and a 3" or 3.5" MAF still attached and laying near my ride, picked it up and thought and bout the MAF........HMMMMM?

It was a lil banged up........nah.......I dropped it and thought no way I could take this thing after all of that.LOL

Said a prayer for the guy and its in the good Lords hands.

Man that is violent.
Good you were there to call 911 for him.

That maf will work.
Gm now only uses 2 maf sensors for all vehicles its the new 5 wire one with the IAT installed. They come with a pigtail to plug right into a 3 wire plug.

I would have taken the MAF too, they just threw it away, lol.

I commend you for your help though, a lot of people would have just drove off ---
