hard start after engine is warm

I have a 87 GN everything is stock with about 1000 miles on rebuilt, when started cold it fires right up, but engine warms up it cranks about 6 to 7 times before it starts. some times i have to step on the gas pedal to start,

I had that problem. I solved it by changing the fuel pump and omiting the pulsating dampener in the fuel tank. Pressure was leaking down and caused the same problem to me. I'm not sure if it was the dampener or a bad pump but that was my cure. Use vise grips and pinch off the fuel line and see if pressure drops off. You need a gauge as well. GOOD LUCK. Hope I helped.
