Hate the new RealPlayer's Virus type characteristics?

Windows Media Player 9 is out now, and it's really nice. Free.
Started out with RP and RP+, but then they started locking/disconnecting more & more.
Subscription service & their later players & products? Nope.
Back 3-4 years ago, Real was THE way to go!

I agree! I need RP for the .rm files. They crop up in the Alternative Medicine circles that I run in. I had dumped the most recent RP because it was impossible to get it out of startup - even with registry hacks.
WM9 is awesome and I only have RP set to play RM files.
It was a boon to find the older version, G2, still was around!
Hate to burst your bubble guys, but both realplayer and wmp send information about what movies you watch back to their mothership. I believe rp only does so with urls, but this is all from memory so I could totally be wrong. WMP stores information about what movie titles you watch.
Go open source 3rd party, it's the way to do it.
