I am sure this question has come up before, but hopefully some people can give me a little advice and help me decide what head gaskets to buy. I just purchased a 87 T-Type and intended to just fix an intake manifold leak and ended up also taking off the heads. So my question is should I go with the stock replacement head gasket or the FEL-Pro Gaskets (p/n 1000), where I did see a note in the gnttype site that, pulled from the site "According to a listmember that spoke with Fel-Pro, the new fire rings are a little too thick for use on a stock-configuration head bolt arrangement and the rest of the gasket tends to "come apart" in areas other than the fire ring. This allows water to eventually get past the fire ring and you've got problems." or should I not worry about the this note, anyone have any bad experience with this FEL-Pro head gaskets? Or would people recommend another head gasket such as the Cometic (if so what is the P/N). My intentions are to run this 87 stock and see what it can do then add on the aftermarket parts and will be some what of a daily driver until start requiring the really expensive gas after adding many more aftermarket parts in the future.
