The size of the GM OEM grommet is .940”.
I suspect the hole in the intake is slightly smaller.
That should get you close for an expanding plug.

If you decide to use a fitting in the grommet, it’s right at .500”.

Yes. This is for the intake (PCV valve).

Are you the guy pulling on the crankcase from the fuel pump block off plate?

If so please post that pic.
I think those of us pushing some boost could use a block off plate that has an 8an fitting on it that we could also run to a catch can and then never deal with any of these breather pukes and pcv issues.

I think that would be a very oily environment for ventilation .

That's where I plumbed the Dutt external pump return into. Helped oil the timing gear/chain.

My timing chain is lubed by a weep hole in the gallery plug. Venting from that area is not a good spot, it would be full of oil fog for sure.
