Best for what purpose?

For normal driving, stock head gasket is best. For high boost some people prefer the stacked steel shims or Cometics. I run the cometics.

Basically for a street strip combo, so lets say is a stocker better than a Fel-Pro ?? I dont want to go cometics yet, that will happen later when I pull the motor, I ma just curious as to what everyone is using. Thanks

The stock gaskets have proven to be extremely strong and reliable. A Fel-Pro stock replacement is a good piece as well.
However, do not let anyone talk you into using the Fel-Pro 1000, which is the "high performance" version that I've blown as many of those gaskets as I've blown my nose with a cold!

If you can get the factroy GM replacements, you'll be good to go.

Although others may disagree, taking the time to retorque the gaskets after a heat cycle will offer much greater insurance, IMO! Be sure to follow the proper torque specs, and tightening sequence, in at least three phases on the original torque down.

if you are going to run high boost, go with the stacked steel (RJC Racing sells a kit)

no mess if you happen to blow one.....you do have to retorque several times for a good seal (the stockers put enough stuff into your oil to ruin the turbo, radiator oil cooler, and bearings)
