Heated O2

i'm grabbing a heated O2 this weekend, how do i install it? i assume it has 3 wires, i guess one would go to the ECM, one is power one is ground? right? where should i tie the power wire into?

Get one from Casper's...plug and play.

Hook up power to the ign port on the buse block. That way power comes on when key is on.

You can get ign. power from one of the wires going to the wastegate solenoid. You can use the valve cover stud as ground.

is a heated O2 even worth it for someone that isn't going to be running race gas? i can get the heated O2 new for 38 bucks, i figured that was a good deal, so is it worth it?

NO, not in my opinion.

To be truthful about it, I'm beginning to wonder if the cost differential makes sense for those of us that DO occasionally run race gas.

Heated O2's are a lot more expensive, and I'm not totally sure that they last a whole lot longer.

They may be 3 times as expensive and only last twice as long - Duh......

I have been using the heated O2 from Casper's for 3 years now with problems. I run race gas all of the time in my GN. If you know your tune up and how the car runs you will know when the heated O2 starts going bad. Well worth the money if you are going to run race fuel.

just looked up the price for an AC Delco regualr O2, its the same price i can get a new Caspers heat O2 from someone that is selling his that he doesn't need, so heated O2 it is

heated or not, if you run leaded fuel much, you will be buying a new 02 very often......all a heated 02 does (and was designed for) is put the car in closed loop sooner.....it has been said, if you let it cook before you start the car, life is extended.....I don't buy that...run leaded fuel and pay the price

i won't be running leaded gas anytime soon, i just figured since i can get a heated one for around the same price as a regular i should just go with teh heated

I guess I would have to ask why? there is 0 advantage to a heated 02 if you are running unleaded gas.....and maybe 0+1 if you ARE running leaded fuel

yeah, but you have to wire it in....not so with the stock single wire AC
