Any negatives (aside from no heater) in removing those clumsy steel heater feed lines?? I felt the space, cleaner look and no fear of leaking core problems outweighed the heat. In Florida so won't miss it much!
Only concern was the loss of travel for cooling assistance. Any thoughts, experiences or ideas are appreciated!

You can take them off with no problem. Just replace the fitting in the intake with a 1/2NPT to 5/8 barbed unit. And run two plain ole heater hoses. Might knock a few ounces off the nose too.
If you're really worried about the heater core leaking, just go get a new one with a lifetime warrenty for $20 and don't worry about it for another 25 years. Might knock a few ounces off the nose too.

I thought about doing that when I built my engine but I thought the stock hard lines would look better. I just welded up the TB heater nipples and let it fly.

X2, I removed mine and replaced with hoses. I went to Advance Auto and picked a couple of hoses with a 90 degree bend and worked perfect. I can send photos if you want.

I am talking about removing the feed to the firewall completely!! Not interested in substituting rubber for steel!!!

All coolant stays in engine rather than go thru heater core?? 5" hose from pump to manifold for coolant ???

Thanks everyone, again I wondered if there were any engine cooling concerns related to time coolant / water is out of engine?? i.e. traveling to an external path app. 4' out of hot engine with heater core acting as an additional cooling source??
Realizing bypassing will shorten travel and cleanup addl. hardware, any experiences w/ warmer engine temps??
