Well this is my first post on any of the Buick forums since i have been deployed. Its all going good over here in the desert and its not to hot yet so thats good i guess. I miss my car something fierce. i just want to drive something that isnt a van or small truck. For those of you that dont know i am in the Air Force and i am over in the desert doing my time until i get to come home. sorry if this sounds like a random rambeling but i have really missed talking to you guys and i cant get on ihadav8.com to talk to those guys and that sucks because alot of my friends are over on that site. They probably think i am dead. Someone please tell them that i am not :) . Well thats all i have for now but i will ask some questions because i am rebuilding the car when i get home. Thanks guys and i hope i make it back for bowling green. Harry

Yup me too! I can't wait to see grass agian...I cant believe dragon we both have TR and 2t2's

Hope your tour ends soon and you can get back stateside so you can start building up your buick. Just think though, combat zone pay and isn't it also tax free while your deployed?

I'm joining the air force this summer and I hope that by this time next year I'll have an 87 GN that I can start to modify.

I had a friend in munitions that recently got back from Iraq and now is in Guam. He said iraq is like a big beach without the water.

Anyhow take care, stay safe, and count down the days.

I'm trying to get my buick back to the street before I leave, problem is I realize that when I'm gone I will be ordering a $hit load of new parts to put on her for when I get back. How long are the rotations you guys are doing over there, what 12 months? be safe bro's....

Most of us airforce guys only do 4 month rotations...some career fields go longer like I hear some MP's do 6 months. I've been deployed since 27th of dec 2004. But all of mine have been volunteering ;) can't turn down the cash when ya got a habit like this!

if you're single, and don't mind the heat and aren't infantry I can see why some guys volunteer.
