are the coil packs off of late model 3.8 86/87 riviera's, park avenues and oldsmobiles the same as the 86/ 87 turbo regals?? i've ran accross three types in my quest... one that looks like the single unit on my 85 motor, one that looks like three seperate coils but the terminals are lined up three per side, and another that looks like three seperate coils and all the terminals are on one side.

i have the adapter to change over to a 87 style coil pack and if i can get one for 4 dollars from pick your part then i'll do that...Thanks guys !!

My coil pack has 3 seperate towers with the ends on the same side, Ive heard that they are a little hotter.

You will need the caspers adapter module harness, and iginition module for the coil pack though.

3.8 COILS

The 3.8-7 's used the magnavox coil 12353801...to answer your question..yes...but the B, C and E bodies used magnavox and delco remy which is the 3 coil system. When converting over to the delco remy we used the system off the 1991 C body w/3.8-1 or the 91-93 Rivs w/3.8L.
If you would like GM part numbers just let me know.
