Hey - I need help identifying my turbo.it looks stock, but when I bought the car I was told it was an upgraded unit - but i didnt get any records or receipts actually saying what it is.

I thought it was a TA49 but now im thinking its just a stock unit, maybe a rebuilt one.
I had got a chip for a TA49, and the car is running massively rich.

What makes you think it's not a 49? Have you measured the compressor inducer diameter to confirm?

Looks like a stocker with an up-graded inlet bell.

I thought it was a TA49 - but I've got a TT chip programmed for a TA49 and the injectors the car has, and it runs MASSIVELY rich at WOT.
Also I was told a TA49 has 6 blades, and a stock has 7

I doubt there's much difference in fueling WOT between the two.

I'd be looking at the supporting cast such as MAF if used or translator settings/programming.

Are you running the WOT boost the chip was burned for?

And I'd ask Eric directly for his input as well.

Yea boost is right at 16 which is what the chip was burned for.

I think I have a host of issues - there is a MAF translator and I checkedlast night - it's not set correctly for the chip (switches are ON ON OFF OFF, TT instructions says to be ON ON ON OFF)

I went ahead and ordered another TT chip burned for what is actually in the car, so I'm hoping that plus setting the MAF translator correctly will get me running a bit better.
