Hey everyone im in a bind right now im installing some new valve springs, i have aftermarket exaust and the wonderfull people at the exaust place took the cat off and welded strate onto the down pipe i think it just go's right into the muffeler, And im having truble figger out how in the heck to remove it or get it out of the way to just take the valve cover off, I need all the help as poseble. PLEASE HELP

DeWalt

Try the sawzall from DeWalt. It cuts through steel pipe like butter baby.

Thats what id do - next to goin back to the 'wonderful people' at the exhaust place.

Well thats what im going to have to do dont want to cut anything but going to have to unless someone can tell me diff.

cut it off

you really dont have a choice. you have to cut it.

hey dose anyone have any good idea how you get that valve cover out with out taking off the turbo? i got the up pipe and down pipe off but its hiting on the turbo elbow how did everyone get it off?

Never mind i just had to take the turbo off the car. But anywasy thank you to everyone that has helped me out im sure i will be posting on here more.

If

If the bolts weren't rusted or froze you could have unbolted the exhaust housing from the turbo. The worst part about taking the turbo off is getting the drain pipe back in the hole. Good luck.

You can remove the valve cover with only the removal of the uppipe. You must put a jack under the downpipe and lift it as far as possible. Then you can manuever the valve cover out of the way. This is how I retorque my head gaskets. If the A/C is still in place you will nee do drop it out of the way as well.
