Help Please Somebody!

Been working on my limited and have just about have everything working again.

Well I noticed yesterday that the security light was blinking for the first time after a fuse change. I locked the car up yesterday and went inside. I went back out to the car and unlocked the drivers door and got my phone out. No problem. Well I forgot and left the door unlocked all night.

I went to leave this morning in the wifes car and had to get my briefcase out of the Limited adn just opened the door. The ALARM GOES OFF. HORN BLOWING, LIGHTS FLASHING! How do i get this thing to stop? I put the key in the ignition and tried to crank it and nothing! WOn't crank. After about 2 minutes of this I pushed the door that I oppened closed with the key in the ignition and it stops. IS this just a quincidence?

How do I keep it from going off everytime I open the door? The door was unlocked so I did not have to use the key.

Please help...Neighbors did not enjoy this thing this morning...nor did my wife who is recovering from surgury.

Even if the door did not lock you have to use the key in the door to disable the alarm.

I've hit the door lock button which has set the alarm but not locked the door and the alarm will be activated.

Just use your key in the door and it will disable the alarm even if the door isn't locked.
