sounds like you are asking for reasons to get a scanmaster
if you havent gotten one yet you should get one , if you have one heres what it can do for you.
you can monitor KR(knock retard ) which is very important in setting up your tune.
you can monitor your O2s to tell if you are leaning out or too rich
you can adjust your iac (idle air control) , only a scan tool will alow you to do this
you can adjust tps but that could be done with a voltmeter , but much easier with the SM and you can check it more often
you can veiw your BLM and at idle and while you cant adjust fuel with a scanmaster , if iBLM is low it may be an indication of too much fuel pressure and after adjusting pressure see if it gets you closer to 128.
if your BLMs are high at idle it may be reason to look for an air leak or if no leaks are found possibly up the fuel pressure or if you cant bring the blms to a normal range you may have a chip thats not matched well for your injectors or maybe something else wrong .
you can watch the MAF values to see if they are in line and maxing under WOT.
you can monitor your coolant temps and know wheter thay are OK or if your having cooling issues
you can monitor your inlet temps to see your getting cool air
you can watch your RPMS accurately without having to rely on the tach in the dash that almost never reads right
you can watch your CC (o2 sensor cross counts) to see if its still active or getting lazy
with a fast update chip you can see your actual timing and see your injector PW to see if they are getting close to maxing out .
If you have a turbotweak chip you can now make changes to the WOT fuel and timing because you can now veiw the changes on the SM .
