Has anyone done any comparitive work between a Hemco vs Power Plate? I think possibly either one does something positive with the incoming air,but I'm trying to decide which is better.I think combination is a large factor.Any imfo is appreciated

here you go. the Hemco is the bottom 2.

:D

That is a comparison of flow, but not really of performance. You can use Jace's data to improve a Hemco:

To get more flow to the front two cylinders, blend the front edge into a nice radius. Do the same on the back edge torwards the #5 cylinder and I bet you can narrow the spread a great deal.

The power plate is a good idea, but If I had a hemco, I'd modify it to improve its flow, rather than buy something else.

all he asked for was some comparitive work between the 2. that was all i knew of. is what you are talking about kind of what steve monroe did to his stock plenum which he shows how to do on his site?

well, I tested a 65 mm Hemco on my car, and it slowed down compared to my stock JJ 62mm doghouse.....don't waste your money IMHO

The Hemco flows the worst of the bunch tested. Yup, you can modify it to keep up, then throw a PP on it, or just stay away from it and use the PP for the stock plenum and be worlds ahead. Gee, which way would I go...

Yes, similar to what steve did, but I wouldn't take the radius as far back as he did, You want to restrict flow to 5 and 6, not increase it.

Here is a Picture of my upper manifold plate, before weld

If you then blend the EGR tower in the upper into a hemisphere it can approximate a good short side radius.

I have no doubt that the power plate works, but my $1 plate seems to work, too.
