What a PITA. i told myself the first time i did it and it was back in that i would never do it again. hell ive down if a few times. GAY. anyways looks like you need some new hood shocks..

Noise in convertor or pump

Got a rapping/tapping noise seems to be coming from the convertor or pump
so out comes the trans
and yes i need new struts the damn thing fell last night gave up without warning.
I pull wrenches all day long on heavy equipment (so much for being the shop manager when there is no one to manage but me;) )
So the last thing I really want to do is pull this tranny:o
But got to be done dont want to take the chance of frying the trans
the motor runs great so far
What are in the east for? service or something else?
I spent 5 years in the Navy fixin jets

Currently deployed. Im a Fuels Accountant for the Air Force. kinda sounds important but they dont pay me like it is. o well in about a year i hope to be making more money as a civilian. well good luck on the car and please let us know what it turns out to be.

Advance Auto has the hood shocks usually in stock, they're a bit stiff but well worth it. Sorry to read about the transmission.

A... A v12 Toyota Camry?

Wha?.....

Let me get my head around this...

A twelve cylinder engine? Right?

Am I understanding this right?

Is it just me or is that totally like... VERY rare?

If so, then you've got my props.

shows how small these motors are to fit in the trunk on my Daily Driver. not sure if would have fit with the heads on it.

Ya know, I had a noise like that coming out of the trans one time too...

i had used a bolt with too long of a head on the torque converter/flex plate. When I'd get on it, or when it would shift hard, the flex plate would, well... flex. As a result, the bolt head would hit the back of the engine block and make a gawd awful rattling sound.

Check your torque converter bolts for signs of "polishing".
