I was turned on to this site by an ebay member I did some selling with, I was already aware of Performance Trans site among others and I have found this forum to be the best and is extremely helpful and informative, this is only me second posting. I have a couple ?'s but don't want to be real lenghty. I have an '86 Monte SS that has an '82 OG trans which before researching I planned to rebuild since then I accuired an '87 KCF that had some Level 10 and Art Carr mods already including Art's deep pan among others but severly burnt clutchs (no surprise I've learned from extra clutches) I have just gotten an '87 CZF from a buddy for free that he was replacing 'cuz it quit on him. It has about 3yrs on it since a stock rebuild after tearing it down I found it blew apart the pump rotor and split the slide not sure why but everthing else is like new still? Only problem is when they rebuilt it they swapped VB's to an early OG with converter clutch valve I think maybe for one of a couple reasons 1) they didn't know the differance. 2) they did know and wanted it or 3) they were trying to compansate for useing it in a non-ECM car? not sure if that would work or not. And last but probably not least I have just purchased an '84 BR I was told it was pulled new out of an '84 GN haven't got it yet the #'s on it are 2672T83BR1273 Anyway my ? is out of what I have listed do you have any advice on what would be best for me to use for a rebuild?

USE THE CZF! No doubt. If not Ill buy it. The others you can toss. You may want to tear down and use the hard parts from the other two units, bolts clips, hard parts, But as far as building them for a performance unit, Dont waste your time. Now can it be done? Well with enough time and money sure, but for you to pull it off, Man you will hate the guy that told you yes. So that CZ is awesome cores boy. I will purchase if you decide to go another route. Basically it is part for part (including govenor) the same as a brf with diff servo and tv sleeve. That is it. Oh and the plug for tcc is diff but easily changed
