I have 6293 heads that are unbridged and want to use a better HG. I heard that the cooper HG are about the best, but can not find any for the 6293's. can I use the 8445's?
TIA
Jim

The 86/87's uses a different HG than the earlier motors. The early cars use a steel HG and have a different deck height. I suggest searching the 84/85 forum. There is plenty of info there. (or do you have a 86/87 block?)

Huh:confused: Any of the gaskets will work on a 293. They are the same head basically. The bridging is for water flow which I don't think will make a hill of beans.

Coppers for the street are a no-no BTW.

ttype83: congrats on making it to the 20, I'm @ 3 right now, with my butt in the thick of things atm. 3c251, like it so far. On the fence about reenlisting though (my term is 4yrs)... if you had it to do again and you were at 3 of 4 or 5 of 6 years, do you think you'd decide to stay in?

So your at Fort Bliss...I know the PERSCOM person down there right now. Well as you already know, we do not get the best pay. For me I have thought about getting out several times, mostly do to have a boss that was a$$. I spent 8 1/2 years at Fort Bragg traveling with the 82 ABN/18 Corp , most of it in the field. Yes I'm AF and know how to dig a foxhole, field of fire, yad, yad, yad. I have been involved in afew conflicts, I'm one of a few AF guys that got across the broader in Iraq. :D
Would I do it all over again... HELL YES, I feel that I make a diff and enjoy working with all branches of the service. I'm a 2T271 Air Transportion, I load & unload cargo, passengers, Airdrop Eq, I have been trained for mostly doing it from seized airfields and roads....What a BLAST. What other job can you get that pays minimum wage and you get to go all over the world defending our Country. I don't do it any more(loading that is) :( Right now I work at Hartsfield Airport, Atlanta, GA
I will stay in as long as they let me or untill they try to move me to a HQ job.

Maybe this can go into the hot air section.
