new aamco tranny was inatalled a week ago. in Overdrive there are no problems which is why i usually drive around in it all the time. in Drive at around 35-40 mph with no gas applied i can feel a slight buck. when the slightest gas is given it bucks wildly and out of control, violently shaking the car. im sure it looks pretty stupid whe it does it too. no problems w/this in Overdrive tho. any ideas what may cause this?

tcc is screwing up. Is it a lock up? Sounds like tcc and OR clutch has an issue....

from what i would guess since its a stock rebuild i would assume its a stock converter. are stock ones lock up or not? whatever a stock one is im sure thats it. i have heard of a TCC but i dont really know what it does but for some reason i kept thinking that was the problem how much does a TCC cost to replace? and how much for the new clutch you speak of and what does it do?

Wow...didn't you have at least ONE friend to try & talk you out of going to Aamco???

Did they rebuild your original GN trans, or, did they take yours in on trade, and replace it with an already rebuilt unit they had in stock? Do you even still have your original converter?

If they put in one of their own, I'll bet you my clear title you are now the owner of a generic 200-R4.

Sad to say, but the trans' problems are likely just starting.

the ONLY reason i got it rebuilt at aamco is b/c the previous owner had it rebuilt there and it was under warranty and money is kinda getting tight these days i dont have my original converter tho. i mis spoke myself tho. they repaired the parts in the tranny that needed fixing and they didnt rebuild it completely. i dont really like aamco. they tried to get out of honoring their warranty every chance they had. luckily i am not a woman and i usually know when a mechanic is trying to B.S. me
