Hello all,

can you let me know the differences between high and low impedance injectors?? Which is better for a low 12, high 11 car??

Thanks alot,

Ravi

the only real difference is price, as they get bigger the high impedence can get pricy, so most move to low impedence when you get into the bigger injectors, but if your running a stock ecm then you need new injector controllers installed to run the low impedence ones, unless you move up to fast/dfi

Low impedance injectors have a coil resistance of about 2 ohms compared to the saturate/Hi impedance which have 12+ ohms.

Generally, the larger injectors use the low impedance ones, since the control mechanism inside the injector gets kinda of heavy so they use a winding that develops a fast magnetic field to open the injector.

The large the injector the more precious the WOT fueling can be taylored.

Using small injectors, and just running them static, has the problem of the injector going erratic as it changes phases to go static. Do that enough, and you'll be replacing headgaskets.

There's alot of old wives tales about problems with big injectors, but that was old dated info.. The guys that know how, can do chips for the big injectors very easily nowadays.
