High pitched noise

Ok so just got my car and I love it but there is this super high pitched noise when I really get on it it sounds electronic and I swear it sounds like its coming right out of the dash it's not the turbo or any of the piping you can't hear it out side of the car only in the cabin really need some help the car is fine and drives like a dream it's just that high pitched squeal that's really annoying me cuz I don't know what the hell it is

I've had heard a blown headgasket make a sound like that.
It actually sounded like it was coming thru the radio when you got into boost.
Coolant/oil was clean, so it took awhile to find it.

If you have an analog dash it could be your speedometer cable whining. My old n/a regal would do that at exactly 62 mph. It was quiet below and above that speed.

Agree with mearly65, if ur high pitched noise came from around the left dash area its ur upper speedo cable need to be lubed with some lithium grease that probably had happened to all of us one time or another hope thats the problem, its a very easy fix n only cost just a few dollars to get a tube of lithium grease from the auto parts store good luck

Ok yeah I'll try to do that this weekend I'm in the navy so kinda got time constraints but I'll let you guys know

The spedo cables make a ton of noise when they need grease.

Does the car have an aftermarket sound system or amp? Could be a ground loop too.

That's what I thought but the only thing that I could think of is it has a high amp alternator
