My 30th High School reunion is coming up in July. Haven't gone to any of the reunions in the past and I don't even keep in touch with anyone I went to school with.

Sort of curious on what has happened to people in the past 30 years but not sure if I really want to go or not. Any funny stories from people who have attended their reunions?

Would love to see all the hot shot jocks who have now turned into balding overweight has-beens.:D

High school in the 70's was just like the movie Dazed and Confused, was a fringe member of the gearheads but didn't really own a nice car until I was out of high school for a few years.

I voted 'stay home', but it might be interesting to go and see if that chick that you remember being the hottest thing ever is still the same or was just enjoying her prime. It would also be nice to -without any warning- walk right up to an old bully type and lay him out on the gym floor like you always dreamed about back then but didn't dare to do.

....I'll go see my therapist now.

I went to my 10 year, and my 15 should be this summer. I had a great time at my reunions, but I went to a small school and only had 100 people in my class, so we all knew each other. I was in with all the clans. I took calculus, so I was in with the brains. I wrestled, so I was in with the jocks. Had a z28 in hs so I was in with the gearheads, and I partied like no tomorrow so I was in with the party crowd.

I say go to the reunion. Its kinda fun to see what everybody is doing. The funny thing about my 10 year reunion was who DIDN'T show up. I traveled 1200 miles to go to mine, and several other people made long distance trips. Its a small town with not a lot going for it, so the people that didn't make much of themselves and got stuck in the town are the ones that didn't drive the 5 miles and pay the $25 to go to the party.

GO

I went to both of mine. 20th and 35th, had a good time. If you don't go then you will wonder if you should have. If you don't have a good time you can leave.

Go to the reunion. The 10 year is the least fun as everyone puts on the dog. The 20th gets better as we start to except where we are status wise. The 30th is real fun cause it doesnt get any better then this plus you see all the ugly ducklings that turned into swans and the class studs with bald heads and beer bellys. What you see is what you get. The 40 is now time to see who isnt alive anymore and who is on the way out health wise. The 50th ??? Hope to attend :)

I went to my 10th last year. It was really cool...I was a dork in high school (some would say I haven't changed!) with an old Monte Carlo. I showed up in the GN with my supafly 20 year old girlfriend and the first thing everyone said was "Wow, I heard you're a cop now?" Most of the jocks were fat and had menial jobs, some of the people were divorced already. I felt really good about myself afterwards, as I feel I turned out very well.

It was funny, people came up to me and said "That's probably your GN, right?" Once a G body guy, ALWAYS a G body guy.

I say GO!!!

It won't matter either way. There will be some ducks that turned out to be swans, and, some swans that turned into dogs ;) I enjoyed that myself....

The same people will be in charge of the event as were in the "in" crowd in high school. Some of the most amazing transformations you can imagine will amuse you.

I was always on the outside of the social scene....Usually bagging groceries or scrubbing floors somewhwere while the other kids were partying. So, it is fun to see the faces of those jocks and swans when they learn I retired, yes retired, at age 49 :D

Go, or not....It won't matter. Life is for the living, not for theraputic visits to the past.

I was making an appointment to see the Governor of our state. It was going to be difficult to say the least. When I visited his office to make a personal appeal for some face time....I saw a swan from high school....I got the appointment and my request was granted :) You don't have to go to a reunion to see the swans....

Do what I did for my class of 1977 reunions. Find out where it is & just show up without paying that absurd prices they want to attend.. Work for me. Go late hang out till people start hitting the restrooms & latch onto someone you know & walk back in.

I AM A SNAKE :)
