I was having low oil pressure at idle. Found the high volume oil pump kit that came with the car. Has 2 other springs in it. Took out the yellow one and put in the blue stronger one. Found pressure was 100#'s cold and no difference at hot idle. (Should have read up on it first) Tonight I wanted to switch spring back to yellow. Undo the cap, take out blue and put yellow in with the plunger on the end of the spring. Now I got NO oil pressure. Ran for about 15 seconds and nothing, lifters were starting to make noise.

I noticed that the steel plunger on the end of the spring has 2 slotted holes in it. Do these have to line up with something or go in a certin way? What could I have F'ed up, did the pump loose prime? Only about 1/2 OZ of oil came out when I tool the plunger out. It there something that the plunger pushes against that could have fallen out? There is nothing in the drain pan.

HELP

Your pump lost it's prime...BTDT...you'll have to re-prime it
