im interested in making one also, how deep does the pan have to be from the gasket surface to the bottom for the 700r4 filter to fit right and be held in?

Thanks, Dan

use an old detent lever bolted to a rear valve body bolt to hold the filter in place and insulate the filter from the 4th pressure switch .post some pics when completed.

any ideas on how to extend the filter downwrd more or does the 700 drop down farther in the pan

with an insulated connecter.the 4th switch shows ground until it shifts to fourth.if not seperated from the filter itll ground switch in fourth if the metal of the filter touches ground.

I just bought that filter (89 Iroc) and it's a drop in replacement for the 200, no pan mods needed. Mine is made by TransKing and has a part number of TK171 for anyone interested. Its backside is plastic so no worries about the switch contact either. I do see that it would benefit from an extension and a deeper sump though.
