Anyone know what Honda transmission oil compares to as far as GMs oil.I have talked to a couple of guys who use it in there Buicks.I can get this stuff cheap just wondering if i should use it myself? Any of you guys useing it?Im useing dextron III right now but was thinking of the Honda oil or the type F?What are you guys useing? Thanks for any info.

I run it but it ain't cheap for me. I use it because a transmission guy felt it held up to heat better. He also indicated the MOPAR fluid was good. Seems to be workin good. I have a 130,000 mile transmission that has not been into.

I was having a 2/3 flair @ WOT.
I added a cooler, overfilled the transmission by a quart, and drained and added the Honda fluid with a filter change.
The 2/3 flair went away was the only change I noticed.
I have only been down the track a few times since using the fluid. It has been in my car for over a year but I drive less than a 1000 miles a year.
It shifts the same. I do not have a shift kit. I would do a fluid change if I you use the Honda fluid.

Alternative transmission fluids....

Since you're looking for alternative fluids, you might look into a tractor fluid. I remember some posts on this board about a fluid used in field tractors that gave some improvement in our cars. The issue, I believe, was about heat. There were up and down sides to its use.

Perhaps someone with current and specific knowledge could clue us in on this :)
