Hood pads,8 hole vs. 9 ?

I have an NOS hood pad that is 8 hole,an NOS one I bought in 96 that I put on my car is a 9.My other GN,a 1,400 orig mile late build GN has a 9.What is the difference,other than one hole center bottom,is it by the build date of the cars,or the later run that GM made were 8 hole?Also,values on either?I have 2,so thinking about maybe selling one.Thanks

It appears that the 9 holes are original hood pads and at some point in time for whatever reason the ones you buy over the counter were 8 hole.

9 holes for the informed are higher value than 8 hole.

What can hinder value is how good the wording is....and how shipping is done.

Unless a repro exists I am unaware of either one will fetch over $600 or more. It is a very visible item under the hood

years ago I sold a band new one that the word turbocharged was upside down....one of a kind goof...

9 hole is what should be original equipment on every 1986-1987 turbo regal
