Anyone have a Hooker exhaust? wondering how you like it? My car currently has flowmasters that came on the car when I got it. they look like the 40 series, little too loud for my taste and a lot of people seem to not like flowmaster on here.

Also if Hooker isn't good what are some other brands of bolt on kits that people are running?

I have the hooker catback with aerochamber mufflers. It's ok. It's kind of quiet so you might like it. Haven't experienced much drone. The only reason I got it was because it was cheap and had low miles. If I ever have to replace it I am going to get stainless. You can get a PYPES stainless catback system for close to the same price

i have the dual 2.5 inch hooker fits good sounds good i dont think its very loud

I've had two sets, 2nd set had the Aerochamber mufflers, liked the sound, not too loud but the mufflers are pretty heavy. Eventually ended up with one of the dual 3" systems we sell just because I can.

I had the Hooker system about 4 years ago and liked it a lot. Was nice and quiet and looked good. I know have the Pypes stainless system with the Race Pro mufflers and like it even more. Been on the car for 4 years and no rust at all, the Hooker only took about 6 months before it was covered in surface rust. Both are a good choice but I would go with the Pypes.

For those that are saying that they like the Pypes system more, did you have to trim the pipes at all? I thought i heard some guys were having to trim theirs.

I am not sold on the Hooker kit by any means. Just have been looking for something in the sub $500 range. All i know is the flowmasters on the car now have to go. I don't mind the noise just they don't sound good IMO.

Yea, you may have the trim the pipes a bit, but it mostly depends on your downpipe cat/dump/test pipe setup. Its really no big deal. Fits well and tail pipes are nice and straight.

How loud is the dual 3in compared to the hooker system? The hooker system is just slightly too quiet for me.

The performance of the hooker system is great though. I switched from the Flowmaster cat back that was on my car, and noticed a nice seat in the pants gain. I get a very slight harmonic droan at 75mph, but it's VERY slight and only at 75. My only complaint is I just want a little more sound... It's OEM quiet. My stock Mazdaspeed 3 is actually louder.

Hooker systems have been around for years. Mine's been great. Been on for about 8 years now. Hard to beat for the money. Pypes seem to be fairly decent and around the same price point but performance wise who knows which is better? I'm sure they are probably close enough the differences will be 90% subjective. I don't know if the Pypes system exits in the stock location or under the bumper like the Monte SS but the Hooker looks stock as far as the tips and exit location.

The Pypes kit exits in the stock location, has the same tips as the Hooker system except they are stainless and can be polished nicely. As far as performance goes I doubt there is any real difference.

I have had the Hooker system for many years now and it still fits and sounds great. I have not had any rust issues with the system. I also like the sound of the Hookers, very deep with out drone.

i have th pypes system and i love it and dident have to trim the pipes at all looks and sounds awesome not to noisy all you hear is the turbo which i love

I have a hooker system on my car with hooker headers, test pipe and it's really quiet. I don't like it; my dad has an atr exhaust with atr muffs and it sounds really good and loud. I had an 03' with a bassani x-pipe and exhaust and it was the most perfect sounding car I have ever driven. I'm going with an RJC exhaust when my motor gets finished.
