transplant an intercooled motor ;) .;)

This is clearly not the answer if a friend is asking the question. Converting an 85 to an intercooler is dollar foolish and labor intensive unless you know how fast you want to go and are you a dragger?. A Razor Alky kit can get a hot air moving as well. But that is not your problem. It is your MAF.

At this point on a hot air you need to convert to the 87 ECM and 87 MAF. The 85 and 87 MAF are not made anymore and the reman MAFs are a 1 in 10 chance of working. Buy a good used 87 MAF. If you cant find one after you convert to the 87 ECM and chip go with a LS1 and translator. The 87 MAT sensor will be an issue depending on your new ECM chip. I would also dump the 85 coil and pack and convert to the 87. You will need the conversion kits from Caspers. Good luck. Brad

By the way- I am local and can show you first hand how to fix it. Give me a call- 847-836-5800-work. Brad

OK I can see this is starting to get ugly.

Brad please dont get upset at my "convert to intercooled" comment, I only posted that because the Wrath and I are real good friends and thats usually a good way for him to get a laugh since all he does is check TB.com when hes supposed to be working....see I did it again. As far as Hot Air cars go, I have no problem with them since they look the same as 86-87s anyway. So please accept my apology.

Brer- I did not get offended at all concerning the quote and no apology was necessary. Never the less all I want to do is help people just as they have helped me over the years. Thanks- Brad
