Does anyone know if someone makes the up pipe for the hot air cars without that stupid flex in the middle? I am looking for one. Please let me know.

Thanks,

try doing a search for it.....ATR makes a good one, Postons probably has one too, cant remember for sure.

ATR makes the only one I know of. It's mandrel bent stainless pipe. Some have fit problems and some don't.

why dont you do this
i did this and loved it
made my spool up sooooo much faster
go to a muffler shop and ask them to order you a u bend of mandrel bent 2.5" pipe
then when you get it , have them cut off the current pipe about 2 inches or so from both of the flanges that are bolted up to the header and the other end to the turbo, do this with the old pipe still in place youll see why in a minute
then cut the new u bend in the middle of the u
reweld it so that when the other ends are cut to the correct length youll have a full mandrel bent up pipe just like the vendors sell
any half ass muffler shop should be able to do this for you
i paid 20 bucks for the labor and about 18 for the pipe

take care

ps, i have a fully rebuilt 87 turbo for sale if anyone wants it, no miles since rebuilt, the compressor housing is hpc coated that nice silver so is the exhaust side, i want 450 for it i pay shipping just sits there

the coating cost over 170 for both of the sides hot and cold
send me an email to boosted1@yahoo.com if interested

postons, and atr sells the same stainless steel up pipe

its a nice looking pipe , but can be a pain to get to seal up, as it doesnt have movable clamps at both ends. like the stocker has.

you can get it to fit as long as u have the patience.
i think it works best with stock exhaust manifolds.
i tried it with after market headers and it just wouldn't work for me
maybe ill try again over winter.

but give them a call if interested
i believe they cost $ 80--85 dollars

Damn pipe!

I bought one of those non-flex up pipes for the car. The danm thing does not fit at all! Not only does it seem too short, but the three holded flange doesnt even fit on my turbo.... I have an 87 turbo on the car but it should not matter because the spacing of the studs is the same and my other pipe (old flex one) fits on there as well... Any other ideas? Maybe thinking about going with boosted 1 idea....

What is the ATR part number and what did it cost? The guy I bought mine off of has them custom bent for his distribution. He took information I gave him and is going to have the guy modify the one I purchased. Still playing with my stock other one though.

Thanks,
