who has the best hot-wire kit? i seen them at ramchargers and caspers. anybody have a better place to get them? and is the 340M a good fuel pump to use with it? or is there one better? (its basically a stock car right now, but with get a few mods in the future, thanks):D

Where ever you get it from its probally from the same vendor Casper's. Casper's is the best hot wire kit out there! The prices is about the same also where ever you go.

Casper's kit will work, or you can duplicate the same functionality with $10 worth of components.

Use a 30-Amp Radio Shack automotive relay, and finely-stranded 12-gauge wire. Use the 12VDC line from the factory fuel pump relay on the switching portion of the relay, and run your 12g wire to the fuel pump.

One potential advantage of a pre-made kit (i.e. Casper's) is that they use Packard connectors, so the kit is a simple plug-in procedure.

Either way will work.

Racetronix is gonna open a can of whoop ass on you for saying that :)

Opps. Sorry after seeing racetronix website, I might just take that back!

Casper's does not make our kits... we make them here... EH! :D

.... everybody makes mistakes TurboV6 ;)

I think I can safely say that Racetronix is moving more PnP fuel pump kits than any other vendor and for good reasons. Over the past few months a few hundred Buick kits have been shipped.

This does not include all the kits we make for Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, TTAs, Typhoons, Syclones, imports and many custom made-to-order applications. We are adding a new platform to our product lineup almost every week.

Looks good Jack! I would have definetly would have bought your kit if I had not bought my casper's kit :( . Looks like you kit comes with everything you need, even it comes with a new ground cable for the battery to the chassis and also a C-59 terminal! COOL! :)

A friend and I just installed the Racetronix and 340 on my stock car. I liked the hot-wire kit, and this is my second install, the first was another type. The 340 is more pump than you will ever need on a stock block.

I got my walbro 340 and regulator and hotwire kit from John's performance. Nice hot wire kit, it was a Caspers. My only thing was the instructions said to start at the alternator. Not a good thing because you will never fish the relay connector thru the tight spots. So start at the back like the Racetronic instructions. Not to mention the online pics are a nice go by.

ok, thanks a lot guys. i think ill go with the racetronix setup. i got one more question though, if its a completely stock motor, do i need a regualtor? or will the stock one be efficient enough? thx again.

A FP regulator? The idea behind an adjustable fuelpressure regulator is that you can tune in or tune out fuel to maximize performance. If you don't race the car and use chips burned for a stock regulator, go ahead and keep the stocker. Some chips, like most Thrasher series chips are burned for a specific, non stock Fuel Pressure (45 psi static) so they require a FP regulator that will give 45 PSI static.
