Ok all trying to figure out how to mount gauges under the radio on my 85 Regal its a column shift car - I can remove the ashtray
but I need to come up with something to make that work
I was thinking maybe get a console thats broken and make something up cause I dont want to cut up a good console
any ideas

You could have them hanging underneath like they did back in the day like have a 3 gauge pod and screw it to the bottom of the radio.

Yea I could get one of those 3 gauge holders and put some stuff under the radio out of sight

Let me know what you come up with! I have a 86 T-type with column shift and I am lookin for a place to mount gauges without drilling holes in the side of my dashboard...

Two of my friends have column shift Regals one has the gauges on top of the radio, the other made up a gauge holder to fit on the side of the dash on the right side of the speedo cluster
(the soft part) it was a homemade kind of thing

ATR used to sells a nice 4 gauge holder for under the radio, I just saw it pictured in their catalog but they didnt have it listed for sale with a price, mayb want to give them a call and see if its still available.

I removed the ashtray and drilled a small piece of aluminum (about 5"x5", maybe 1/16" thick) to bolt to the bottom of the radio pod using 3-4 of the ashtray screws, then attached a gauge pod to the front edge of the plate. That got the gauge even with the front of the radio pod and level, with no drilling on the car. No, it's not as nice as an enclosed gauge box but I'm happy with it.

Dont want to chop up the dash board plus my car has COLUMN shift - dont want to advertise so i figure under the radio is out of sight
