how can i tell if car is and original turbo trans am.

saw a turbo trans am which is in need of saving how can i tell if it is original,
i ran the number thru autocheck if has a previuos salvage but know has a clean title,motor is out of car but seller has it said was removed to rebuild,
here is the vin# 1g5fw2174kl243125.

The 1G5 is a dead give away. Only the TTA's had that in the VIN. This is Kerry's car in Worcester right?

The "7" in the 8th position of the VIN indicates a turbo motor. This is true on the Regals as well.

small world after asking this question i saw that this car is listed in the cars for sale,i am going to take a look if possabile this weekend,might have to put the t paint job on hold.i saw that someone said they had a motor forsale
what are the used tta motors going for.i read that there are certain difference in the tta motor and the gn motor like the heads,so can you swap the tta heads over to the gn motor.
