Wolndering if there is a way to test the knock sensor.
I tried tapping with along screw driver around the base and on the sensor even with turbo link in record mode and I did not see any bumps in the RTD line.... I tapped fairly hard not real hard...
Just want to make sure it works.... No more blown HG's for me please !!!
I have a Scan master now just arrived actually via UPS a few minutes ago and a caspers audible knock alarm...
They will be going in before I play with the car.

When I tested mine I just tapped on it with a screwdriver (metal to metal if you like) directly onto the metal housing of the sensor when installed in the engine and both the scanmaster and my casper knock gauge picked it up fairly easily.

Maybe check wiring if you don't see anything .. or the sensor might be dead?

IIRC if the chip has KR ignore below a certain rpm/key on no start the SM wont show anything while tapping the sensor

Not sure, you will have contact Eric and ask him. It may have been added to the chip only he will know

If you hook up the Casper audible sensor to a live 12V source you will hear it beep when you start the car. This way you know it is working every startup. Wife factor is very bad if that matters to you though.

Good question here. I don't believe mine is working either. I was seeing zero knock on my xfi while my pump was failing and car was pinging bad. got it all fixed and i'm still seeing zero knock. I have to get this under control.

Run 87 Octane and 30lbs of boost, If the headgaskets blow and the you get no KR then the sensor's bad

Ok lol if rather not perform a smoke test
Just looking for a way to know everything works. Without risking damaging anything !

You can test it with a volt meter, red probe inside the knock sensor, Black to ground of course. check with ac voltage settings, you should be able to tap around sensor and if it is working, it will show voltage. Knock sensors produce ac voltage!
