how difficult is fiberglass repair?

Hey I might be able to get a pretty sweet deal on some fiberglass pieces but the only problem is that there is a chunk out of one of them and a crack in another spot and I was just wondering how hard it was to repair the stuff. I found some info on one site and it didn't seem too hard but I just wanted to talk to someone that has some experience with it.

I'm no expert with it, but I have pieced fibreglass parts back together. In fact my glass bumper used to be two pieces. It's not really hard.

Hey John,

I was wondering what all is involved in fixing cracked 'glass pecies. I'm not sure If you'd seen any of my posts recently, but last friday I came out of a Kash n' Karry to find my header panel cracked up real nice... the hummer that was parked in front of me must have backed into me while I was inside. If its not too tricky to fix, I'd much rather do that than spend 200-300-400 bucks on a new header panel. I'm not really too concerned about it looking perfect either, since as you know the rest of the body isnt in perfect shape, but I can't stand seeing those ugly cracks, and that one peice missing. I will most likely be at the BK cruise-in this saturday (assuming the weather cooperates) so you can see what I'm talking about then. Oh, and don't forget that ECM I was pestering you for. I'll send you a PM or something sometime saturday to let you know if I'll definitely be there or not. Thanks!

Hey Corey........it's not too hard to do fibreglass repair, but if you have time, run over to Cophers and see if you can find a good header panel. Getting harder to find, that's for sure. They cost under $50. If I see one, I'll shoot you an email.
