I need to raise my TPS volts at WOT. How do you do this on a hot air? Thanks- Brad
Same way as an IC car. If your TPS reads too low @ WOT, loosen the screws and pull UP on the TPS. Lightly re-tighten the screws and set your closed thottle TPS setting. Go back and read WOT setting again.

Make sure your carpet does not limit the pedal travel and be sure to verify your TV cable is not too tight.

You may need to file off the half-moon guides on the TPS to get full travel as well. It helps to have someone inside the car doing to go pedal. Adjust to get .44 at idle, then have them mash it, see where you are at. Go back and forth until you are ~.44 idle, 4.6 at WFO.

Thanks Squid and Jerryl. I had already raised the TPS and was getting 4.40 volts at WOT. Removed the stinking floor mat and got 4.58 volts at WOT. THanks alot again. I am now ready to put this Alky kit to test and start bringing up the boost from stock until knock. Should be from 12 PSI up to 20psi-No knock.I had to make sure the BLM was 128 at idle in geart, TPS .42 idle, 4.5-4.6 WOT. The BLM adjustment really increased the power level. Brad

Definitely post back results from the alky. Or PM me. I just ordered my alky and chip from Eric, should be in by end of next week I hope. I am anxious to see what it'll be like.

Squid- I will gladly keep you posted as I turn up the boost. I ran into a brick wall after installing the Alky kit. Bad after market MAF, Bad 87 coil module, and a stinking floor mat. The engine is ready and it has alot of power even on stock boost. This car breaks the tires loose now. These cars require patience, patience-but when they are sweet they are sweet.I will keep you posted unless others are interested in my tests in the following week. If there is interest I will keep the thread alive. Brad

Add some excitement to this board and keep it alive!

Just how important is the WOT tps setting...? from what I have read it is the low end that is important.

Also I am starting WOT test for boost with Razors kit....so by all means keep it alive.

I was told that you need at least 4.5 volts at WOT in order to tell the computer that the engine is at WOT. I will find out tonight when I do my first test run before playing with the boost. I will let you know if there is any difference. Brad

Ok but if you have to pull the carpet back to get 4.5 when you return the carpet.....logic dictates no more 4.5. So I mean how critical can it possibly be? I mean does anyone actually read 4.5 or better with carpets in place? I get somewhere around 4.3 or 4.4...I guess I would like someone to give me a valid reason why we need this 4.5 reading.....or what it effects......

Tenright- I get the 4.58 volts with the carpet on at WOT. Jerryl gave me the info on how to modify the TPS in order to get there. I tested my car on stock boost tonight I cannot say if this adjustment changed anything due to other issues. I have new trans with a 2800 stall conv. and lock-up at 50-55 mph. In all my test runs I ran in third gear with pedal to the floor. The car doesn't want to shift gears. When it does shift it is hard and I get some knock. I know that lock up is set at 50-55 mph and the chip is set for 45. I wonder if I am driving the car incorrectly or should I raise boost? Thanks- Brad

Brad,
Try to loosen up the TV cable a notch ot two. This will create a softer shift, but, will lower the shift RPM. After loosening up the TV cable, go back and then tighten it back "one notch at a time" to a point you can live with. Do not go too loose (transmission may start to slip) and count the exposed notches before making any changes, just so you have a baseline.

99% of these cars will knock when shifting. That is normal and I would not worry too much about that. As long as the KR is relatively small and stops immediately after the shift, you should be fine.

I have to admit that I am clueless here. Where is the TV cable? What does it do? How do you adjust it? Thanks-Brad

Jerryl- Thanks alot for the info on the TV cable. I looked at the info and have decided to punt on this one. I have come so far and I do not want to screw up a brand new trans. The engine and alky are working correctly. I am going to raise the boost tp 15 psi and confirm no knock.

Then I am going to take the car back to Jimmy's so he can test it while driving. I am not qualified to evaluate the situation. Jimmy owns the trans market in the Chicagoland area for Buick performance trans. I had the trans built before the engine and Jimmy pointed out some issues because my original engine had no power. Now it does. I will keep you posted. Thanks- Brad

Brad~ so here you are bragging about how well the alky works in other threads but you leave us hanging in this thread. Just kidding! ;)

I want details! Butt dyno, holy @#$% factor, whatever. My kit from Razor is sitting on the kitchen table right now waiting for me to fix my front cover cam sensor issue. I told the wife the family is not eating until we get it fixed! :D

Reset after change!

Disconnect the Orange lead to the Ecm with every change on Iac or Tps.
Take it for a ride look at the Blm when reset it shows 128 once the Ecm relearns the motor Blm's will start changing. You may have to reset the Iac after a Tps adj and redue step two.

Squid- I have not taken the time to post my results because I only got my final bugs out of the way last night. I am a CPA and have been working 7 days a week and with my little free time debugging my car. I am now past tax time and can breath a little. I will share all my info with anybody. You can give me a call as well. Page me at 630-255-0426 and I can give you some pointers as well. I was only able to debug the car based on input from board members as especially Julio at Razor. I will post my experience tomorrow. Brad
